Service Description
This fruit jar workshop is the perfect balance of functionality and fruity fun! In this 2-hour class you'll be guided through the process of making a lidded vessel using pinch pot and coil techniques. Our instructors will help you shape and sculpt the jar into whatever fruit speaks to you! There is no need to have any prior ceramics experience. This is a beginner-friendly class and our instructors will be there the whole time to help out! We recommend this class to ages 8 and up. After sculpting your fruit jar, you can choose up to two glaze colors for your piece! This means you have the option for your lid to be glazed one color, and the base another. You will also have the option to come back and use our Paint Bar for $20 to custom paint your jar any color you'd like! Dress comfortably. We recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy. We'll provide the aprons and the fun! Workshop Details: Dates & Times Available: Sunday May 31st 3:30-5:30pm, Sunday June 14th 3:30-5:30pm, Sunday July 5th 3:30-5:30pm Location: Kilnfolk Clay Studio, 108 W 6th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660 Metered street parking downtown, or secure parking is available one block away in the Lot #18 Park 'n Go Vancouver Center Garage. Price: $75 per person What's Included: A 2-hour guided workshop on how to hand-build and add surface design to a ceramic lidded jar, which will be glazed with up to two colors and fired. Your jar will be ready for pickup a few weeks after the workshop. Attire: Dress ready to play with clay and get a little messy! Cancellation Policy
For a full refund or free rescheduling, you must notify us 7 days before your scheduled class/activity. Within 7 days of your class there is no refund but you can choose to reschedule within the first five days of that week prior to your class and must pay 20% of the class price to reschedule. There will be NO reschedule/cancellation for any reason within 48 hours of the class, and no refund will be offered. Any refund offered will be subject to a 4% processing fee. We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for this event, and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small service based business and lots of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Please be aware this is one of the most generous cancellation and rescheduling policies in our industry, and please don't give our staff a hard time for adhering to it- they are just doing their job. Thank you for understanding! DISCLAIMER: No guarantee is offered, explicit or implied, regarding the quality or serviceability of fired work. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the best possible outcome for every firing. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you will not hold the studio, its volunteers, or any other person associated with the studio responsible for work that is damaged or defective in any way while in the studio at any stage of the process. Please note that all class pieces need to be picked up within 3 months of the class date. It takes an average of 3-4 weeks for pieces to move through the finishing & kiln firing process. You will be notified via email when your piece is ready to be picked up. If you don't hear from us, please give us a call to verify the status of your piece before coming in. After 3 months, pieces will be donated to make room on the studio shelves. While working with clay is relatively safe, there are hazards and risks. These risks include the possibility of injuries or illness related to the use of the studio, materials, or equipment. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you have been informed of the risks and have signed the Kilnfolk waiver.

If you are signing up for a multi-week or workshop that includes open studio time please click below to create an account on our website. Be sure to use the email that you used to book your class. You then will be able to access the Open Studio Sign Up Page under Memberships. Each open studio session is just a start time and is good for up to 3 hours. Open studio time must be used in one day and cannot be split between multiple days. Multi-Week open studio sessions do not roll over and must be used in the week they are allotted.
