Service Description

This is an eight-week course for mixed level participants to advance their skills on the pottery wheel. Elements of hand-building will also be included. Class sessions are held Tuesday evenings from 6-8pm. This class is designed for complete beginners but we also have an agenda for intermediate participants to go at their own pace! You will be able to take home several pieces of your very own handmade pottery by the end of the series. In this course you will learn different techniques and approaches to throwing on the wheel and hand-building; including centering, pulling, trimming, coil building, slab building, surface decoration, and glazing. There will also be a special project mid-way through the course that the group will decide upon. In this 8 week course you have the opportunity to fire up to 12 pieces of work! We encourage you to practice, practice, practice, and keep only what you love! The price includes eight days of instruction (one day/week, 2 hours/session) and one additional day of open studio time per week where you can practice outside of class (max three hours per session only one per week).
