Service Description

Discover the magic of clay during our Spring Break ceramics camp for ages 8-13! Join us for three days of hands-on pottery adventures, where young artists will discover the joy of working with clay. During each three-hour session, children will explore basic hand-building techniques in our bright, supportive studio environment. They'll learn to create with pinch pots, coils, slabs, and various attachment methods. Our projects include crafting a sculptured animal, designing a functional piece (like a personalized mug, vase, or pencil holder), and creating a decorative wall hanging. While our experienced instructors guide each step of the process, we encourage young artists to experiment and express their unique vision. There's no pressure to make things "perfect" – we celebrate each child's individual artistic journey and give them the freedom to explore their imagination. Class sizes are small (8 kids per session), so instructors are able to provide a good amount of one-on-one instruction throughout the morning. Each student will bring home three finished, fired pieces that showcase their growth. One single glaze color per piece is included in the camp tuition. As an alternative to the single color glaze, children can return to personalize their pieces further using our paint-your-own-pottery glazes for an additional $30. This can be paid at pickup after their last day of camp. Important Details: Dates: Tuesday April 1st - Thursday April 3rd Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm (Please arrive 5 minutes early) Price: $230 (includes all materials and firing for 3 pieces) Ages: 8-13 years What to Bring: -Comfortable clothes that can get messy (clay washes out like regular dirt) -Water bottle -A healthy breakfast before camp -Their imagination! Thank you for understanding! DISCLAIMER: No guarantee is offered, explicit or implied, regarding the quality or serviceability of fired work. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the best possible outcome for every firing. Please note that all class pieces need to be picked up within 3 months of the class date. It takes an average of 3-4 weeks for pieces to move through the finishing & kiln firing process. You will be notified via email when your piece is ready to be picked up. If you don't hear from us, please give us a call to verify the status of your piece before coming in. After 3 months, pieces will be donated to make room on the studio shelves. While working with clay is relatively safe, there are hazards and risks.
