Service Description

This four week course is for beginners and intermediate level participants to advance their skills in hand-building and on the wheel. You will be able to take home a few pieces of your very own handmade pottery by the end of the series. (6 pieces max but you can practice with as much clay as you want). In this course you will learn different techniques and approaches to throwing on the wheel and hand-building; including centering, pulling, trimming, coil building, slab building, surface decoration and glazing. The price includes four days of instruction (one day per week) and one additional day of studio time per week where you can practice outside of class. You can come in for open studio Tuesday-Saturday 11-6 and Wednesdays 11-8pm. However, please note that wheels will not be available on Fridays and Saturdays from 1:30-3:30, and Sundays from 12-1:30pm. Cancellation Policy: A refund will be issued if requested 7 days or more before the class begins and subject to a 3% processing fee. Only work done in the studio can be fired in the studio. We encourage you to come in for the extra day of open studio time to work on your pieces. We don't allow clay to be taken out of the studio. Please sign the studio handbook on the membership page of our website before your first class. https://www.kilnfolkclay.com/membership-policies What to wear: Comfortable clothes that you can squat in and don't mind getting dirty, and short nails! What to bring: Bring a rag and an apron to class with you! Use of the studio indicates you agree that you have been informed of the risks and have signed the Kilnfolk waiver.

Cancelation Policy

For a full refund or to reschedule, you must cancel your booking 4 days before your scheduled class/activity. If you need to cancel within 4 days we will refund 50%, however same day rescheduling for any reason is not allowed, and no refund will be offered. We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for this event and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small service based business and lots of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Please be aware this is one of the most generous cancelation and rescheduling policies in our industry and don't give our staff a hard time for adhering to it, they are just doing their job.
