Build your own holiday garland with air dry clay!
Service Description
This season, join us in the studio for a unique experience that combines creativity, nostalgia, and the joy of holiday traditions. This 1.5 hour handbuilding workshop welcomes all skill levels to sculpt your very own holiday garland out of air-dry clay so you can take it home the same day! No prior experience necessary- our instructors are here to guide you through every step of the way, kindle your holiday spirit and bring out your creative side. You will be given about 1 pound of air dry clay to sculpt pieces of your garland and be able to create festive designs to hang on your wall or wrap around a tree! After the workshop, you will take your creation home to dry and paint. We recommend letting it dry for about 24 hours before painting, and for paint we recommend acrylic craft paint. If you'd like your finished piece to have a strong & shiny finish, we recommend clear shellac spray. No firing or glazing is needed and thus not included in this workshop, as we will be working with air-dry clay. Here at Kilnfolk, we believe that the holidays are about connecting with friends and family, so we encourage you to bring your loved ones along to share in this creative experience! Workshop Details: -Dates & Times: Saturday November 8th 10:00-11:30am, Sunday November 30th 3:30-5:00pm, Monday December 15th 6:00-7:30pm, Tuesday December 23rd 6:00-7:30pm -Location: Kilnfolk Clay Studio, 108 W 6th Street, Vancouver, WA 98660 Metered street parking downtown, or secure parking is available one block away in the Lot #18 Park 'n Go Vancouver Center Garage. -Price: $35 per person -What's Included: 1.5 hours of guided instruction to sculpt pieces for your garland from about 1 pound of air dry clay to take home the same day for you to paint at home. No kiln firing or glazing is included in this workshop. -Attire: Dress comfortably and be prepared to get your hands dirty! Bring your own apron if desired. Cancellation Policy
For a full refund or free rescheduling, you must notify us 7 days before your scheduled class/activity. Within 7 days of your class there is no refund but you can choose to reschedule within the first five days of that week prior to your class and must pay 20% of the class price to reschedule. There will be NO reschedule/cancellation for any reason within 48 hours of the class, and no refund will be offered. Any refund offered will be subject to a 4% processing fee. We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for this event, and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small service based business and lots of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Please be aware this is one of the most generous cancellation and rescheduling policies in our industry, and please don't give our staff a hard time for adhering to it- they are just doing their job. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the best possible outcome for every firing. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you will not hold the studio, its volunteers, or any other person associated with the studio responsible for work that is damaged or defective in any way while in the studio at any stage of the process. Please note that all class pieces need to be picked up within 3 months of the class date. It takes an average of 3-4 weeks for pieces to move through the finishing & kiln firing process. You will be notified via email when your piece is ready to be picked up. If you don't hear from us, please give us a call to verify the status of your piece before coming in. After 3 months, pieces will be donated to make room on the studio shelves. While working with clay is relatively safe, there are hazards and risks. These risks include the possibility of injuries or illness related to the use of the studio, materials, or equipment. Use of the studio indicates you agree that you have been informed of the risks and have signed the Kilnfolk waiver.

Attention Students!
If you are signing up for a multi-week or workshop that includes open studio time please click below to create an account on our website. Be sure to use the email that you used to book your class. You then will be able to access the Open Studio Sign Up Page under Memberships. Each open studio session is just a start time and is good for up to 3 hours. Open studio time must be used in one day and cannot be split between multiple days. Multi-Week open studio sessions do not roll over and must be used in the week they are allotted.
