Service Description
We are partnering up with Kadence Studios to bring our community a Halloween Raku firing event (now with two nights to choose from!) that will add a touch of spooky magic to your fall season! As the leaves rustle and the shadows grow longer, we invite you to bring your bisque masterpieces, and we'll conjure up the rest! We'll provide glazes that shimmer like moonlight, protective safety gear to ward off any unwanted surprises, and other essentials for a successful Raku experience. Your pieces will be ready to take home immediately after firing. Raku clay (low fire) bisque fired to cone 04 or 06 recommended. Community/Home Potters -$50 Members/Multi-Week Students - $40 (use the code that was sent in your email) ***This is a glazing/firing event only -- you must have raku bisqueware by October 27th or October 28th -- please plan accordingly! You can bring up to 3 small pieces (6" or under) or 1 large piece not measuring more that one cubic foot. Join us in a scavenger hunt for combustibles onsite, or bring your own materials to try (like horse hair or honey!). When you arrive you will glaze your pieces and then we will get them in the raku kiln to start the process. $50 includes the glaze and firing portion of this event. You must bring your own bisque piece/pieces to the event. For best results bisque fire at 04 or 06. You can purchase Raku clay at Kilnfolk Clay studios for $1/lb or $24 for a 25lb bag. More Details: We've opened up a second night for this event! The Raku firings will take place at Kadence Raku Studio: 614 E 19th St., Vancouver, WA. October 27th and October 28th from 5-8-ish pm. We will have refreshments to enjoy, and will spend the evening experimenting and learning about the mysteries of the Raku process. Feel free to head home when your pieces are done, or hang out with us to savor the crisp autumn evening!




Cancellation Policy
For a full refund, you must cancel your booking 7 days before your scheduled class/activity. If you need to reschedule within 7 days, we will charge a 20% fee, however there will be NO rescheduling for any reason within 48 hours of the class, and no refund will be offered. Any refund offered will be subject to a 3.7% processing fee. We have this policy in place to protect our employees and artists who are booked specifically for this event, and also other customers who might have had a chance to book if the seat was available. Please understand we are a small service based business and lots of planning and supplies go into making these classes possible. Please be aware this is one of the most generous cancellation and rescheduling policies in our industry, and please don't give our staff a hard time for adhering to it- they are just doing their job. Attention Students!
If you are signing up for a multi-week or workshop that includes open studio time please click below to create an account on our website. Be sure to use the email that you used to book your class. You then will be able to access the Open Studio Sign Up Page under Memberships. Each open studio session is just a start time and is good for up to 3 hours. Open studio time must be used in one day and cannot be split between multiple days. Multi-Week open studio sessions do not roll over and must be used in the week they are allotted.
